Lighthouse · Cape Henry, Virginia
Chesapeake Light
The tower was first lit in 1965 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 4 seconds, seen up to 5 nautical miles out. A former Texas Tower platform about 16 miles east of Cape Henry, it lost its main light in 2016 and was sold at auction; two small flashing lights still mark it, and it is only a speck on the horizon from Virginia Beach.
