Māhukona Lighthouse

The tower was first lit in 1915 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 4 seconds, seen up to 6 nautical miles out. The concrete pyramid stands on the point south of the old sugar port of Māhukona, a short walk from Māhukona Beach Park.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Māhukona Beach Park, 379 m (1,243 ft) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. Hawaiʻi's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when Hawaiʻi arrives.
