The tower, first lit in 1858, is dark now. The working light, one white flash every 4 seconds, stands nearby, about 50 m away. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Wisconsin's oldest light station: the limestone schoolhouse-style lighthouse in Rock Island State Park opens for tours from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, and a steel tower just south of it carries the light.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Rock Island State Park overlook, 590 m (1,936 ft) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. Wisconsin's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when Wisconsin arrives.
