The tower was first lit in 1827 and no longer serves as a light for ships. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built of Port Deposit granite, it stands in Havre de Grace where the Susquehanna meets the bay, and its keeper's house across the street is a museum.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Havre de Grace promenade, 220 m (722 ft) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. Maryland's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when Maryland arrives.
