Lighthouse · Lynn Canal, Alaska

Eldred Rock Lighthouse

The tower was first lit in 1906 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 6 seconds, seen up to 8 nautical miles out. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The last of Alaska's first lighthouses and the only one still in its original building, its octagonal tower rises from the keeper's house on a rock in Lynn Canal, reached only by boat.
