Lighthouse · Sumner Strait, Alaska

Cape Decision Lighthouse

The tower was first lit in 1932 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 5 seconds, seen up to 14 nautical miles out. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It stands at the southern tip of Kuiu Island facing Sumner Strait, reached only by boat or helicopter, and the Cape Decision Lighthouse Society cares for it.
