Lighthouse · Apostle Islands, Wisconsin
Michigan Island Lighthouse

The tower was first lit in 1929 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 6 seconds, seen up to 11 nautical miles out. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The tallest light in the Apostle Islands, a skeletal iron tower that first stood at Schooner Ledge on the Delaware River in 1881 and was rebuilt on Michigan Island's bluff in 1929, beside the older lighthouse.
