Point Reyes shipwreck

An old wooden fishing boat named Point Reyes, bought by an Inverness resident who meant to repair her and beached on the Tomales Bay shore behind what is now the Dixon Marine Services building, in downtown Inverness. She is not the historic dairy schooner of the same name. A fire badly damaged her in February 2016, and by 2023 her sides had largely collapsed. She lies on National Park Service land, but the best view crosses private property: the Inverness Store lets the public look from the east end of its parking lot. Don’t trespass elsewhere, and don’t climb on the boat.
