Mile Rocks Lighthouse

The 49 ft (15 m) tower is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 5 seconds, seen up to 8 nautical miles out. The tower was cut down to its base in 1966, and the light stands on top.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Point Bonita Lighthouse, 3.0 km (1.9 mi) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. California's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when California arrives.
