Norman's Cay plane wreck

A Curtiss C-46 Commando cargo plane that came down in shallow water just east of the Norman's Cay airstrip in the Exumas on 15 November 1980, and has lain there since. Norman's Cay was Carlos Lehder's base for flying cocaine into the United States from 1978 until about 1982, and local accounts call this a smugglers' plane; an accident record lists the flight as a training flight, so its story is not settled. It is a popular snorkeling stop, reached by boat.
