Lighthouse · Ponce, Puerto Rico

Faro de Caja de Muertos

The tower was first lit in 1887 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows one white flash every 30 seconds, seen up to 10 nautical miles out. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It crowns the highest point of Caja de Muertos, an uninhabited nature reserve about 5 miles off Ponce reached by weekend ferry, at the top of a steep trail.

On the website for now. Puerto Rico's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when Puerto Rico arrives.
