Shipwreck · Hatteras Island, North Carolina

Mirlo

The British tanker sunk off Rodanthe on 16 August 1918, whose crew the Chicamacomico lifesavers pulled from the burning sea. NOAA grades this position Low, and a 1955 wire-drag survey here found nothing and recommended taking the wreck off the charts. The dive lists put her about 8 km to the east-south-east in about 120 ft, so treat this position and depth as uncertain.
