The tower was first lit in 1912 and no longer serves as a light for ships. A granite memorial to Samuel de Champlain, built around the 1858 lighthouse tower in 1912, at Crown Point by the Lake Champlain Bridge; dark since 1926, it stands in a state campground.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Crown Point State Historic Site, 1.1 km (0.7 mi) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. New York's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when New York arrives.
