The tower was first lit in 1848 and is still an aid to navigation. Its light shows a white light that goes dark briefly every 4 seconds. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It stands in the median of U.S. 90, beside the beach.

How to see it

Above water and inside the horizon from Biloxi Beach at the lighthouse, 238 m (780 ft) away, so on a clear day it can be seen from there, and CoastFinder puts a label on it.

On the website for now. Mississippi's lighthouses are in the web viewer first, and they are coming to the CoastFinder app, which covers the North Carolina coast today. Follow @coastfinderapp to hear when Mississippi arrives.
