HMCS Yukon
HMCS Yukon, a 366 ft Canadian Navy destroyer escort sunk as an artificial reef in Wreck Alley off Mission Beach, San Diego. Swamped by an unexpected swell, she sank on 14 July 2000, a day before her planned sinking, and rolled onto her port side, bow to the north. Her starboard rail lies at about 56 to 65 ft and the sand at about 102 ft; the water is cold and often dark, and going inside needs wreck training. Moored for divers. Her position is approximate: no official record of it was found.
